About Us
Welcome to The Herd Hope! My name is Arin, and I am 15 years old. In 2024, I visited an elephant orphanage in Kenya, and I was inspired to raise money to help them continue doing their inspiring work. Once I finished that fundraiser, I knew I could do more to help, so I created a movement to help others do the same. The Herd Hope is a youth-led initiative committed to educating others about elephant endangerment, and inspiring and enabling youth to organize fundraisers through one-on-one support.

Privacy Policy
I. The Herd Hope collects names and emails of those who fill out the Contact Form. The Herd Hope also collects the physical addresses of Youth Ambassadors who explicitly allow it, though this is never mandatory.
I.i. In addition to name and email, our website host, Site123, may automatically collect certain technical information, such as IP addresses and cookies, to ensure the website functions correctly. Please note that Site123 does not state whether they honor or respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals. Because we use their platform to host our site, we cannot technically override this setting. You can review their privacy policy to learn more about this on their website. We do not use this information for marketing or profiling.
II. This data is collected through the Contact Form.
III. This data is shared with our team and essential service providers (such as our website host, Site123, and our email server, Google/Gmail. These companies maintain their own privacy policies which you may review on their respective websites). We never sell, rent, trade, or disclose your data to third parties or advertisers.
III.i. We do not allow third parties to collect personally identifiable information about our users' online activities over time or across different websites.
IV. This data is collected in order for us to contact Youth Ambassadors, as well as other people interested in The Herd Hope.
V. This information is only used to contact people who fill out the contact form.
V.i.However, should a Youth Ambassador and their legal guardian explicitly allow it, we will recognize the Youth Ambassador with their name on our Youth Ambassador board. This can be done by emailing us.
VI. Should a person under the age of 13 want to fill out the Contact Form, or become a Youth Ambassador, we must collect a signed form (i.e. a physical copy in the mail) from their legal guardian that we may collect their data, including their name and email. This form is available upon request. To do this, their legal guardian must first fill out the contact form with their email. They must explain their intention and request the form. This form will be sent digitally to the provided email, along with a summary of this privacy policy, and a link to the full version provided here. It must be printed out and signed and then physically mailed to our address.
VI.i. Should a person under the age of 13 become a Youth Ambassador and their legal guardian provide a signed form allowing their name and email to be collected, a legal guardian may review their child's personal information, delete it, or refuse to collect its further collection and use. This may be done at any time by email.
VI.ii. Should a person under the age of 13 become a Youth Ambassador and their legal guardian provide a signed form allowing their name and email to be collected, we do not require more information than reasonably necessary, i.e. no more than name and email
VI.iii. Should a person under the age of 13 become a Youth Ambassador and their legal guardian provide a signed form allowing their name and email to be collected, their data will be deleted within 15 days of their resignation as a Youth Ambassador, or if they or their legal guardian request it be deleted. Data will also be deleted after 12 months of inactivity.
VI.iv. Should a person under the age of 13 become a Youth Ambassador and their legal guardian provide a signed form allowing their name and email to be collected, their data will not be retained for secondary purposes, i.e. purposes that not regard ambassadorship. During retention, this data is solely used for communication. These purposes are solely for internal operations of our organization, except with explicit permission defined in article V.i. This data is never used to create a profile or for any behavorial marketing.
VI.v. Should a person under the age of 13 become a Youth Ambassador and their legal guardian provide a signed form allowing their name and email to be collected, their name and email will not be used for any purposes that do not regard communication or recognition without explicit permission through another form from their legal guardian.
VI.vi. Should a person under the age of 13 become a Youth Ambassador and explicitly request that The Herd Hope sends them physical materials, we will provide a digital copy of a form allowing us to collect this information. This form will be sent to the previously provided email address, and must be printed out and signed, and then physically mailed back to us. Only then will we be allowed to collect this persons physical address.
VII. To ensure that your data is protected, we have reasonable measures in effect.
VII.i. Only verified team members of The Herd Hope with the password to our Gmail and Site123 account have access to this data.
VII.ii. Our website host, Site123, uses SSL/HTTPS to encrypt your data as it travels from your browser to our website.
VII.iii. Any physical forms (mentioned in article VI) will be stored in secure storage.
VIII. At no cost, any person may, at anytime, correct their information, review their information, or opt-out—meaning that their data will be deleted within 15 days.
IX. Data from users of the contact form who are not Youth Ambassadors will be retained for 30 days.
X. This website is currently intended for users located in the United States.
XI. Should this policy be changed, it will be notified through a banner on this site for three weeks. Any users whose data is collected will be notified through email.
